AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 28-171 OF
THE TAMARAC CITY CODE PERTAINING TO PERMITTED
USE IN BUSINESS DISTRICTS BY PERMITTING THE
SALE OF BOTTLED GAS LN ADDITIONAL, DISTRICTS;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR
REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

Auto repair:
(1) All major repair work shall be done
within an enclosed building.
(2) Outside storage or display of parts
is prohibited. Outside merchandise
display is limited to petroleum products
and tires only, and these products shall not
be displayed beyond the pump island area.
(3) Outside storage of vehicles shall be
restricted to vehicles with valid license
plates and valid inspection stickers. All
vehicles stored outside after business
hours shall be parked in an orderly manner
and only in approved parking spaces and
shall not be visibly dismantled and shall
not appear to be junked or abandoned.

traffic circulation plan is submitted which will be
sufficient to satisfy the maximum projected usage
of the drive-in facility on the site with so
disruption of traffic off the premises or disruption
of customers seeking to park their vehicles and to
physically enter the bank. Each drive -up lane
must have stacking capability of one hundred
(100) feet minimum.

must be separated by a sufficient buffer and
contain other standards to protect the health,
safety and welfare of the people.. Accordingly,
this use is permitted by special exception in
B-1 and B-2 districts. In addition to other
reouirements, the followina criteria must be met:
I.' The establishment shall be at least 100 feet
from the nearest residence measured in a straight
line from the closest point of the building in
which the restaurant is located to the nearest
• residential property line.
2. There must be prior approval of the means and
method of waste collection by the City Council.
3. A plan for control, reduction or elimination
of offensive odors should be submitted with the,

Warehouses - provided the following
criteria are satisfied:
1. No sales either wholesale
or retail.
2. Warehouses, storage districts,
or storage buildings shall be used only
for temporary, long term, static or in
and out storage of products of all types
except the following:
a. Products classified as
flammable, explosive, radioactive,
corrosive, restricted or dangerous.
Classified shall mean classified
either ty the United States Government,
the State of Florida, Broward County,
or the City of Tamarac by duly enacted
Resolution.
b. Products designated as
hazardous by the Fire Chief of the City
according to criteria established by the
National Fire Prevention Code adopted by
the City.
3. Loading docks and areas for
receipt, dispatch and handling of
products, materials, equipment and supplies
shall not be located on the street side
of the buildings, but shall be located on
the side or rear of buildings unless
screened from direct view at ground
level from any street as determined by
the City Planner or his designated
representative.

SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this
ordinance.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this ordinance or any
portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be effective upon its final passage.
