HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Ordinance O-1983-006Introduced by: Temp. # 1021 Rev. 2/23/83 1 2 3 4 1 8 9 .20 31 3,2 33 z4 35 16 -7 3 20 F14 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 33' 34 35 36 as follows: - CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE NO. 0-93 -6 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE CITY CODE REGARDING SOLICITORS, CANVASSING, ETC., REPEALING THE REQUIREMENT FOR FINGERPRINTS TO BE TAKEN AS A CONDITION FOR OBTAINING A LICENSE CONTAINED IN SUB -SECTION 22-3(h), AND CREATING SECTION 22-8.1 ESTABLISHING REAS ABLE HOURS FOR SOLICITATION OR CANVASSING, PR ING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PIIING FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION l: That Sub -Section 22-3(h) is hereby amended to provide "(h) The-figets-e-tie-ap}east-d-tie The names of at least two reliable property owners of the county, who will certify as to the applicant'_s_good_character and business.,.responsibility, or, in lieu thereof, such other available evidence as to the good character and business responsibility of the applicant as will enable the investigator to pr2Eerly evaluate such character and business responsibility." follows: SECTION 2: That Section 22-8.1 is hereby created to provide as "SECTION 22-8.1 Same - Authorized hours of solicitation or canvassing. (a) Legislative Finding: It is the finding of the City Council that it desires to exercise its p2lice power to establish reasonable hours of solicitation or canvassing for the purposes contained in this chapter. (b) Hours: Licensed solicitation or canvassinr, in the City -are limited frcen 10 : 00 A.M. to 4: 0 0 P.m.,, SECTION 3: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this Ordinance. SECTION 4: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of cmxnpetent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the Part declared to be invalid.
