CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-84-,3__
AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 2-3.1 OF THE
CITY CODE REGARDING "CANDIDATES FOR ELECTED
OFFICE --FILING FEES"; ESTABLISHING SAID FEES;
REPEALING ORDINANCE 0-76-33; PROVIDING A
REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PRO-
VIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 6.06 of the City Charter provides for
the "verified notice of candidacy" to be "in such form as may
be required by municipal law"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to repeal the provi-
sion of Tamarac Ordinances 0-76-33 and 0-76-88 which had
required each candidate for the office of Mayor or Council to
file a petition signed by one hundred electors in support of
the candidate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized and desires to
replace said provision with the following municipal law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SCION 1: That Section 2-3.1 of the City Code is
hereby created to provide as follows:

SECTION 2: That Ordinances 0-76--33 and 0-78-88 are
hereby repealed.
SECTION-1: All Ordinances or part of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
,ACTION 5: That specific authority is hereby granted
to codify this Ordinance.
,SECTION 6: That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and shall govern the filing of
candidates for the March 13, 1984 Tamarac municipal election.
