CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA

AN ORDINANCE REGARDING ADMINISTRATION OF CITY
COUNCIL BUSINESS, AMENDING SECTION 2-11.4 OF
THE TAMARAC CITY CODE ENTITLED "LIAISON
POSITIONS": PROVIDING REPEALER, PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac is
concerned about a more equitable distribution of Liaison
positions among its members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
��CTION_1: That Section 2-11.4 of the Tamarac City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 2-11.4 City Council liaison positions.
The <mayor-> Q�y_r�.�DQ�� may designate any QJ its
members <tnemleer--ef--eeeneil7--ineleding--himself7> to the
position of liaison to a city committee, a-cirty -depa-Ft-me*t- or
a governmental entity outside the city. The <mayof> gjty
r_Q=g_iJ may also designate a liaison to a special project.
Only the mayor or a council member may serve in a liaison
position and may hold more than one (1) liaison position.
The designation of liaison shall be at the pleasure of the

a liaison member may be withdrawn or changed at any time by

on any city committee nor serve as chairman or vice-chairman

of any committee unless otherwise provided by law. The city
council may adopt by resolution additional guidelines
regarding liaison positions, not in conflict with this
section."
SETIO_ 2: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTQTN-3 : Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other
than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTIONi__-4: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
