3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-9.2 OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE PROVIDING FOR DELETING THE
4 15 MILE RADIUS OF CITY HALL RESTRICTION ON
SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE, INCREASING THE MEAL
5 ALLOWANCE, AND ALLOWING THE CITY COUNCIL TO
ESTABLISH ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES REGARDING
6 EXPENSES BY RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR CODI-
FICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY FOR
7 INVALID PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE,___ _ ..
9 WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully studied the
10 subject of reimbursable expenses;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
12 THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

14 ,SECTION 1: That Sec. 2--9.2 of the City Code is hereby
is amended to provide as follows:

17 "Sec. 2--9.2. Travel allowance.
18 Whenever it is deemed necessary for the <-e-kty
19 -e,&a4-> elected or appointed city officials and
20 employees of the city to travel on city business,
21 and such travel is approved either by the city
22 council or by the city manager, allowances for
23 transportation and subsistence shall be regulated
24 in the following manner:
25 (a) Rates of subsistence allowance
26 (1) Travelers may be allowed for subsis-
27 tence, when on official business <beyaad

29 the following amounts:
'10 a. Breakfast..... <4-2-r2L&-> $3.00
b. Lunch......... <,3-,55-> $6.00

33 or any greater amount established for

In order to claim breakfasts, travel
must begin before 6:00 a.m. and extend
beyond 8:00 a.m.; in order to claim
lunches, travel must begin before 12:00
noon and extend beyond 2:00 p.m.; and in
order to claim dinners, travel must
begin before 6:00 p.m. and extend beyond
8:00 P.M.
(2) For overnight travel, travelers may be
allowed up to the amount permitted in
paragraph (1) of this subsection for
meals, plus actual expenses for lodging
at a single occupancy rate, travel and
incidentals. The hotel and room rate
shall be approved in advance wherever
possible by the city manager.

codify this ordinance.
szf= 3: Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
