2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF TAMARAC
3 ZONING CODE, CHAPTER 28, ARTICLE XVIIIC,
INSTITUTIONAL -EDUCATIONAL I-1 DISTRICT BY
4 AMENDING ARTICLE XVIIIC TITLE, BY AMENDING
SECTION 28.171.9 PURPOSE, AND BY AMENDING
5 SECTION 28-171.10 PERMITTED USES, TO PROVIDE
FOR MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTAL USES IN ADDITION
6 TO INSTITUTIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL USES IN AN
I-1 DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
7 PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS; AND

9 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission for the City of
Tamarac has determined that there is a need for the institu--
10 tional-educational district to be amended to include munici-
palgovernmental uses and said change is consistent with the
City of Tamamac's comprehensive Land Use plan; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Tamarac
has reviewed the recommendations of the Planning Commission
13 and has determined at a public hearing the need to revise the
14 applicable sections of Tamarac's City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
15 OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
16 SECTION 1 : That Article XVIIIC of Chapter 28 and
sections 28-171.9 and .10 of the City Code shall be amended
17 by deleting the language that is <9trael---thrsajh> and by
adding the Underlined language to provide as follows:

No building or structure or part thereof,
26 shall be erected, altered or used or land or water
used in whole or in part, for other than one or
27 more of the following specific uses, which shall
be nonprofit:

(a) Art galleries.

(b) Auditoriums.

(c) Broadcasting studios, educational.
(d) Churches, Sunday schools.

(e) Club, fraternal or sororal.

(f) Conservatories, art and music.

(g) Convents, parish house, rectory.
(h) Museums.

(i) State accredited schools and schools offering
courses of study leading to an academic degree
and meeting the requirements of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools,
such as:
Primary and secondary schools.
Colleges and universities.
Public, trade and vocational schools.
Military.
Preparatory.
Boarding.
(j) Housing for employees or students of a school,
educational institution or other use permitted
in I-1 districts.

2: Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this ordinance.
SEC'PION-3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than
the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5-: This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
