ORDINANCE NO. 0-85-j"
AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 2-43 OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE ENTITLED "INSURANCE
ADVISORY COMMITTEE"; PROVIDING FOR MEETINGS,
MEMBERSHIP AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIQNS;. AND

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
5f MN 1: That Section 2-43 of the Tamarac City Code
is hereby created to provide as follows:
"Sec. 2-43. Insurance Advisory Committee.
(a) There is hereby established an Insurance Advisory
Committee for the City of Tamarac.
(b) The Committee shall hold a regular meeting once
each month on an agreed date and time in City Hall
and special meetings may be called as provided in
this chapter. All meetings shall be open to the
public.
(c) The Committee shall be responsible to keep abreast
of the C.ity's insurance requirements under the law.
Upon request of the City Council, the City Manager
or his designee, the Committee shall formulate
advisory opinions on specific issues affecting the
City's insurance requirements. The Committee shall
have no administrative authority and shall not be
directly involved in the actual procurement of
specific insurance policies.
(d) The Committee shall be composed of five (5) regular
members appointed by the City Council from the
general public, who shall serve without compensa-
tion at the pleasure of the City Council. No
public member shall be actively engaged as an
employee, officer, board member, consultant or

representative of any organization doing business
with the City of Tamarac in the field of insurance.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this Ordinance.
S=DN_1: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
