ORDINANCE NO. 0-85-.��
AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 2-11.3, PROVIDING
FOR APPOINTMENT, APPROVAL AND QUALIFICATIONS OF
LEGISLATIVE AIDES TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVI-
SIONS; AND FROV� A1wFF,F,E,�T�F._D�TFJ__
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 2-11.3 of the Tamarac City Code
is hereby created to provide as follows:
"Sec. 2-11.3. Legislative aides.
Any city council member is entitled to have a
maximum of three (3) legislative aides to assist in
compiling background information on subjects that legit-
imately are, or could be, of concern to the City Coun-
cil. The following guidelines shall apply to legisla-
tive aides:
(a) Aides shall be residents of the city.
(b) Aides shall serve without monetary renumeration
from the city or any council member.
(c) Council members shall nominate the aide(s) desired,
and upon approval by a majority of the City Coun-
cil, the aide shall serve a term to expire the
following March 10. The aide serves at the plea-
sure of the nominating council member.
(d) Aides may not hold elected office in the city.
(e) Aides may not be city employees.
(f) Two (2) or more council members may not appoint the
same aide."
EECT_1QI -2: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
