CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-85-�
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16-3 OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE; PROVIDING FOR A NOISE
EXEMPTION FOR LIGHTNING WARNING SIREN SYS-
TEMS; PROVIDING FOR OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS; - AND
PROVIDING _PO_R Li ,EFFECTIVE DAM__ _,
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that lightning is a
frequent source of danger in Florida; and
WHEREAS, persons on a golf course are among the most
exposed to a lightning strike; and
WHEREAS, a -siren system to warn golfers is in frequent
use throughout the country; and
WHEREAS, -properly utilized, a siren system could save
lives and prevent injuries from electrocution on the golf
course with minimal noise interference to surrounding resi-
dential areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
S.BC_'JON 1: That Section 16-3 of the Tamarac City Code is
hereby amended to provide as follows:
"Sec. 16-3. Same -- Exemptions from Prohibitions.
None of the terms of prohibition of sections 16 -1
and 16-2 hereof shall be applied to or enforced against:
(a) (Same.)
(b) (Same.)
(c) (Same.)

0-CTION 3: Should any section or -provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph-, sentence
or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the- validity of
the remainder hereof as whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.

immediately upon its final passage.
