AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 27 OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE PERTAINING TO COMPRE-
HENSIVE REGULATIONS FOR ALL WATER AND
SEWER UTILITIES OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE
CITY OF TAMARAC IN THE AREAS OF RATES AND
CHARGES, SERVICE, BILLING, NEW DEVELOPMENT
(WATER AND SEWER EXTENSION POLICY), AND
WASTEWATER DISCHARGE STANDARDS; PROVIDING
FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVER -
ABILITY OF INVALID PROVISIONS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in order to receive Water Pollution Control
construction grants from the United States Environmental
Protection Agency and the State of Florida Department of
Environmental Regulations, it is necessary to amend Chapter 27
of the Tamarac City Code--Tamarac's user charge and sewer use
ordinance --to provide additional sewer discharge restrictions,
clarify definitions of sanitary sewage and permit requirements
for Commercial and Industrial customers.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
,9FgyjQN_j: That Chapter 27 of the Tamarac City Code is
hereby amended to provide as follows:

SE.C,.,22-34.: SEWER CONNECTIONS, WHEN REQUIRED; PROHIBITED
CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATIONS, ETC.
The c:.:-cx cf the property, or the person in charge of or
responsible for any property, upon which there exists a
building or structure inhabited or used and located in the
City, which property abuts or is within two hundred (200) feet
of a sanitary sewer main, shall connect such building or
structure with and use the services and facilities of the sewer
system within <-tight-eei-r F-18}-m&nL-ha> Dingty_1991__day.9 of the
date such sanitary sewer main is constructed and available to
such building or structure for'use.
It shall be unlawful for any person to construct, install,
or repair septic tanks or other similar sewarage disposal
systems in or upon any property which abuts or is within two
hundred (200) feet of a sanitary sewer main available to such
property for use.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drain, or causel`'�_o
be drained, any sewerage into septic tanks or other similar
sewerage disposal systems located in or upon any property which
abuts or is within two hundred (200) feet of a sanitary sewer
main available to such property for use after the lapse of
eighteen (18) months from the date such main has become
available for use.
