Ord. # 1413 / CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE No. 0-89-_.Zy AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC CREATING THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY OF THE DIRECTOR; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVID- ING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held pursuant to Chapter 166, Florida Statutes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac deter- mines that it is in the public interest to establish a position of Director of Development Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA. SECTION 1 That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Tamarac are hereby amended by creating a new section of the Code to be entitled "Director of Development Services", which section is to read as follows: Director of Development Services Establishment The position of Director of Development Services of the City of Tamarac is hereby established. The Director of Develo ment Services shall be appointed_pursuant to the provisions of the Code of Ordinances and the Charter of the City of Tamarac. 711 1 32 33 34 35 36 Functions Res onsibilities, and Authority of the Director of Develo ment Services . The Director of Development Services shall have direct responsibility for the following functions:_ a. the conduct and operation of the Code Enforcement program of the City of Tamarac; b. the coordination of the licensing and ermittin activities in the Building, Community Develo ment, and Ep ineerin_g Departments of the City of Tamarac; C. overview authority regarding new hires and personnel develomen_t (t_raining, educationand motivation) of all staff in^the Building, Community Develo meet and Engineering Departments except for the respective, heads of those DeRartments. d. such other duties as ma be assigned by the City Manager SECTION 2 Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this Ordinance and Sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or relettered and the word "Ordinance" may be clanged to "Section", "Article" or other such appropriate word or phrase in Order to accomplish such codification. 1� SECTION 3 If any provision of this Ordinance or the app2 ication thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not effect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect with- out the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.
