CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-92-
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 6, "FINANCE AND TAXATION",
ARTICLE V, "PURCHASING PROCEDURES", SECTION 6-151,
"EXCEPTION TO BID REQUIREMENTS" BY PROVIDING IN
SUBSECTION (3) THAT ONE (1) SOURCE PURCHASES IN
EXCESS OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000.00)
REQUIRE COUNCIL ACTION; PROVIDING FOR COD-
IFICATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR
WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Tamarac authorized a
change in the City Charter which increased the threshold amount
for competitive bidding from two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) to
ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00); and
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to conform the City Code to
the provisions of the Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
The City Code of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
Chapter 6, "Finance and Taxation", Article V, "Purchasing
Procedures", Section 6-151, "Exception To Bid Requirements" is
amended so that sub -paragraph (3) shall read as follows:
(3) Noncompetitive supplies. Noncompetitive supplies,
available from only one (1) source, such as unique, patented or
franchised supplies, are exempt; however, such purchases in
excess of Two J, Thousand Dollars
require a formal written contract approved by the city council.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify
this Ordinance.
,SF All ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.

SECTION 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions 'or
applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without
the invalid provision or application, and to this end the
provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective immedi-
ately upon adoption and passage.
