CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-92-25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; AMENDING CHAPTER 19 OF
THE TAMARAC CITY CODE, ENTITLED "SOLID
WASTE -,ARTICLE III ENTITLED "RATES AND CHARGES
AND BILLING PROCEDURE", BY REVISING SECTION
19 - 5 5 , PROVIDING FOR A FEE OF ONE DOLLAR AND
50/100 ($1.50) PER MONTH FOR SINGLE FAMILY AND
OTHER RESIDENCES RECEIVING CURBSIDE PICKUP OF
RECYCLABLE NEWSPAPER,CLEAR GLASS AND ALUMINUM
AS SET FORTH IN ORDINANCE 0-90-7; PROVIDING
FOR A FEE OF 65 CENTS ($.65) FOR MULTI -FAMILY
RESIDENCES RECEIVING DUMPSTER SERVICE;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;PROVIDING FOR
REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida
deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of Tamarac to
provide for the recycling of certain items of garbage and trash;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise the rates for the single
family homes program to recycle newspapers from $.76 to $.80 per
month; and to impose an additional fee of $.70 per month for
collection of clear glass and aluminum beverage cans; and
WHEREAS, the City is expanding its recycling program to
include multi -family residences and implement recycling of
newspaper and aluminum; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to impose a fee to multi -family
residences in the amount of $.65.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
That Section 19-55 is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 19-55. Recycling Fee.

SECTION 4: if any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
Ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTIQN • This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
