AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC; AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE TAMARAC
CITY CODE ENTITLED "LICENSE AND BUSINESS
REGULATION," ARTICLE II ENTITLED "OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSES"; SECTION 12-30 ENTITLED "LOCATION OF
BUSINESS; APPLICABILITY OF ZONING REGULATIONS"
BY AMENDING SECTION 12-30 (e)(,.)(vii) TO REVISE
FIRE REQUIREMENTS; AND (viii) TO CREATE AN
ANNUAL FIRE INSPECTION FEE; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
implemented an ordinance requiring fire extinguishers be located on
premises, which have approved occupational licenses for residential
use; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshall has proposed upgraded fire
extinguishers to benefit the residents of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to incorporate the upgraded
standards into this Ordinance.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 12-30 (e)(1) of the Tamarac Code of
Ordinances is amended as follows:
(vii) Single-family and owner -occupied duplex
residential structures, utilized for occupational uses
pursuant to section 12 2(i)(a) 1 2-30 of this chapter,
shall comply with residential smoke detector
requirements of the fire code and shall have minim

(viii) Prior to issuance of occupational license, any
residential structure proposed for business use shall be
inspected for conformance with the city fire code. A fire
inspection shall be completed prior to any such
occupational license being issued. Businesses in
r IQ_Qcu 12gocies shall be subject to an annual fir
inspection with a minimum feg gf $25.00.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this
Ordinance.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or part of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any provisions of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of
this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision
or application, and to this end the provision of this Ordinance are
declared to be severable.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon adoption and passage.
