AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 6, "FINANCE AND TAXATION",
ARTICLE V, "PURCHASING PROCEDURES-, SECTION 6-150,
"OPEN MARKET PROCEDURE" BY DELETING FROM THE
OPENING PARAGRAPH THE LANGUAGE REGARDING PURCHASES
BETWEEN TWO THOUSAND ONE DOLLARS ($2,001.00) AND
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00); PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING
WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Tamarac authorized a
change in the City Charter which increased the threshold amount
for competitive bidding from two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) to
ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00); and
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to conform the City Code to
the provisions of the Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, 'BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECJJQN -L.-• The City Code of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
Chapter 6, "Finance and Taxation-, Article V, "Purchasing
Procedures", Section 6-150, "Open Market Procedure" is hereby
amended so that the opening paragraph thereof reads as follows:
Any item not required by section 6-147 to be the subject of
bidding and not required by' the city council to be bid, et --where-

cat--e-o"e,U , shall be purchased or sold in the open market
without newspaper advertisement and without observing the
procedures prescribed by section 6-149,for the awards of formal
contracts.

SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify,
this ordinance.
SECT IQU3, All ordinances or parts of Ordinances - in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without
the invalid provision or application, and to this end the
provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon adoption and passage.
