CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. O-93-
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF THE
TAMARAC CITY CODE ENTITLED "FIRE PREVENTION
AND PROTECTION", SECTION 7-54 ENTITLED "OPEN
BURNING"; ELIMINATING OPEN BURNING IN THE CITY
OF TAMARAC; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
in the public interest to eliminate all open pit burning in the City of
Tamarac.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing whereas clause is hereby
ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a
specific part of this Ordinance upon adoption hereof.
SECTION I That the Tamarac Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended by revising Section 7-54, Open Burning as follows:
Sec. 7-54. Open burning.
(a) No person shall ignite, cause to be ignited or allow any
burning of substances upon any public or private place in the
city. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit
burning wood, tinder or similar materials in a stove, oven,
barbecue pit or fireplace for the purpose of cooking or fuel.

E TI Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this
Ordinance.
E TI All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall
not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be
given affect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end
the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption. U
