AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ; AMENDING
CHAPTER 21 "SUBDIVISIONS", ARTICLE II
"PLATTING", DIVISION 4 "PRELIMINARY PLAT",
SECTION 21-74 "LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF
APPROVAL" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
ESTABLISHING AN EXPIRATION DATE AND
SUNSET PRELIMINARY PLATS; ADDING TO
DIVISION 5 "FINAL PLAT", SECTION 21-89
"LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL"
ESTABLISHING AN EXPIRATION DATE AND
SUNSET OF FINAL PLATS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATES
WHEREAS, the City finds that the proposed expiration of plats implements the
Goals, Objectives, and Policies of the Tamarac Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the expiration of preliminary and final plats will implement streamlining
of the City's platting process; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on September 21,
1994, and recommended approval of the ordinance addendum; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval of this
ordinance amendment.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, has deemed it to

be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to amend
Section 21-75 of the Code of Ordinances, to establish an expiration date and sunset
existing preliminary plats and add Section 21-89 of the Code of Ordinances to establish
an expiration date and sunset of final plats; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interests of the City to
amend the platting procedures to be consistent and compatible with the County
requirements; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing whereas clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Ordinance
upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: Section 21-74 " Limitations and Conditions of Approval' of the
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 21-74. Limitations and Conditions of Approval.
(2) If no final plat has been applied for the area covered by the preliminary plat before
the six (6) month approval period has elapsed, the approval shall beeerne-

SECTION 4 : It is the intention of the City Commission and it is hereby
ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Tamarac, Florida, and that the Sections of this
Ordinance may be renumbered, relettered and the word "Ordinance" may be changed to
"Section", "Article" or such other word or phrase in order to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.

SECTION 7: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
