AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE TAMARAC CODE, "LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS", SECTION 10-47 "SITE PLAN SUBMISSION", TO REQUIRE THE PLACEMENT OF ROAD PAVEMENT MARKER NOTE ON THE SITE PLAN, AND AMENDING SECTION 10-128 "FIRE PROTECTION", TO REQUIRE THE PLACEMENT OF ROAD PAVEMENT MARKERS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Fire Rescue Department depends on fire hydrants for water supply to fight fires within the city; and WHEREAS, fire hydrants are not readily visible at night; and WHEREAS, some buildings have sprinkler and standpipe systems to assist in fire control; and WHEREAS, the fire department connections are not readily visible on these systems; and WHEREAS, the Fire Rescue Department wishes to reduce the time it takes to locate fire hydrants and fire department connections; and WHEREAS, road pavement markers can indicate the locations of fire hydrants and fire department connections; and Coding: Words in G#W& thFaug4 are deletions from existing law; Words in underscored type are additions. Ord. 1800 Page 2 September 4,1997 Revision #4 September 16,1997 WHEREAS, by requiring a note on the site plan, contractors will be aware of the requirement for road pavement markers; and WHEREAS, the Fire Chief and the Community Development Director recommend the addition of this clause to the code; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac has deemed it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac that the installation of road pavement markers be required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing whereas clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Ordinance upon adoption hereof. SECTION 2: Chapter 10 "Land Development Requirements" is amended as follows: Sec. 10-47 Site plan submission (C) The following constitute the site plan requirements. The plan shall be submitted on sheets twenty-four (24) inches by thirty-six (36) inches with the following required information on the site plan: (23) Notes on the site plan covering the following items: Coding: Words in StF Gk thFougI4 are deletions from existing law; Words in underscored type are additions. 1 Temp. Ord. 1800 Page 4 September 4,1997 Revision #4 September 1 6,1997 any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, FIRST READING this 8 day of Ccl -� -�� , 1997.
