ORDINANCE NO. 0-2000-eO-�4
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF ELDER AFFAIRS FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $24,500 FOR THE CITY'S EVALUATION OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF ELDER AFFAIRS "ELDER READY
COMMUNITY" ASSESSMENT; AMENDING THE ANNUAL
BUDGET OF ESTIMATED REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution R-2000-178 adopted by the City Commission June
28, 2000, the City approved submitting a proposal to the Florida Department of Elder
Affairs in the amount of $24,500 for the City's evaluation of the Department of Elder
Affairs "Elder Ready Community" assessment; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Elder Affairs has accepted the City's proposal
and has issued the City of Tamarac Purchase Order #S 6500 021576 in the amount of
$15,000, attached hereto as Exhibit 1, and will issue another purchase order in August
2000, in the amount of $9,500, as stated in the purchase order attachments; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of these funds requires the amending of budgeted
revenues and expenditures of appropriate City funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended these amendments to the
Fiscal Year 2000 budget to properly account for all budgetary actions related to the
acceptance of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs funds; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to amend the FY
00 Budget to address the actions needed to accept the Department of Elder Affairs
funds in the amount of $24,500 for the City's participation in the evaluation of the
Department of Elder Affairs "Elder Care Community" assessment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the
Ordinance upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to accept the
Department of Elder Affairs funds and the conditions of the Purchase Order and
attachments conveying those funds, for the City's participation in the evaluation of the
Department of Elder Affairs "Elder Care Community" assessment.
SECTION 3: The budget of the City of Tamarac is hereby amended and all
necessary budgetary transfers of funds are hereby approved.
SECTION 4: Conflicts: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: Severability: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
other provisions or applications of this Ordinance than can be given affect without the
invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are
declared to be severable.
SECTION 6: Effective date: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon adoption.
