Ord. #2068 Page 1 October 25, 2004 Revision #1 November 1, 2004 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE NO. 0-2004- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, RE -DESIGNATING SPECIAL MASTER TO SPECIAL MAGISTRATE PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2004-11 LAWS OF FLORIDA AND PROVIDING THAT ALL REFERENCES TO SPECIAL MASTER IN TAMARAC ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS ARE CHANGED TO SPECIAL MAGISTRATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article III, Division 2, Section 2-72 of the Tamarac Code was revised by Ordinance No. 99-19 to provide for the option of a Special Master as an alternate to a Code Enforcement Board; and WHEREAS, effective October 1, 2004, Chapter 2004-11 Laws of Florida re- designated the title of persons serving as a "General or Special Master' to the title of "General or Special Magistrate"; and WHEREAS, this law makes no substantive change to the existing authority, power or duties of these persons; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac has deemed it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac that all references to the Special Master in Tamarac Ordinances and Resolutions should be changed to Special Magistrate. 1 Temp. Ord. #2068 Page 2 October 25, 2004 Revision #1 November 1, 2004 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clause(s) is (are) hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and is (are) hereby made a specific part of the Ordinance upon adoption hereof. SECTION 2: That Special Master is hereby re -designated as Special Magistrate and all references to Special Master in the Tamarac Ordinances and Resolutions are changed to Special Magistrate. SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances, and all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable. n 1 1 1 Temp.
