ORDINANCE NO. 0-2005-t,5
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ENTITLED
ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE III, BOARDS, COMMITTEES,
COMMISSIONS SECTION 2-159, MEETINGS, OF THE CITY
CODE, CHANGING THE INVESTMENT ADVISORY
COMMITTEE MEETING FROM MONTHLY MEETINGS TO
MEET EVERY OTHER MONTH; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Tamarac provides for the
creation, existence and duties of the Investment Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Investment Advisory Committee is to make recommendations
to the City Commission on investment policy and duration of the investment portfolio;
and
WHEREAS, Section 2-159 provides for the meeting schedule of the Investment
Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, because the basic philosophy followed in investing the available
funds does not change significantly on a monthly basis; and requires a longer period of
evaluation for effective monitoring; and
WHEREAS, the Board will be able to make more effective recommendations on
on meetings every other month; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance recommends amending the Code of
Ordinances to change the Investment Advisory Committee meeting from monthly to
meet every other month, at a regularly scheduled time which is to be approved by the
City Clerk; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
amend the Code of Ordinances to change the Investment Advisory Committee
meeting from monthly to meet every other month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby
ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific
part of the Ordinance upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: That Chapter 2, entitled Administration, Article III,
Boards, Committees, Commissions, Section 2-159, Meetings of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Tamarac, entitled, Meetings, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 2-159. Meetings
The board shall meet at least enee a month eve other month at a
regularly scheduled time which is to be approved by the City Clerk.
The board may determine its own vacation period not to exceed
more than one cancelled meeting per year.
SECTION 3: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not
affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect
without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
Ordinance are declared to be severable. I

SECTION 4: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any provision of the Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other
provisions or applications of this Ordinance than can be given affect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of the Ordinance are declared to
be severable.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
