CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-2011-03
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC CODE OF ORDINANCES ENTITLED,
"ADMINISTRATION", ARTICLE III "BOARDS, COMMITTEES,
COMMISSIONS', BY DELETING IN ITS ENTIRETY DIVISION
6 ENTITLED, "PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE",
SECTIONS 2-176 THROUGH 2-184; PROVIDING FOR
SUNSETTING THE PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Information Committee was established in 1985 for the
purpose of improving communication between the government and residents of Tamarac,
and to encourage citizen participation in City affairs; and
WHEREAS, the Public Information Committee has overthe years performed a good
and valuable service to the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, over the past few years the Public Information Committee has struggled
to garner a quorum; and
WHEREAS, the Professional City Staff now provides the same service to the

residents of Tamarac that the Public Information Committee has provided; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac extends its appreciation to
the members of the Public Information Committee and commends said members for their
efforts on behalf of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, The Economic and Public Affairs Officer recommends sunsetting the
Public Information Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac has deemed it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac that Chapter 6 of the
Tamarac Code, Article III, Division 6, be deleted in its entirety providing for the sunsetting
of the Public Information Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing whereas clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct, and are hereby made a specific part of this Ordinance upon
adoption thereof. All exhibits attached hereto are hereby incorporated by reference and
made a specific part of the ordinance.

SECTION 2: Chapter 2 of the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances entitled,
"Administration", Article III "Boards, Committees, Commissions", Division 6, "Public
Information Committee", Sections 2-176 through 2-184, is hereby amended by deleting it in
its entirety.
SECTION 3: The Public Information Committee is hereby sunsetted.
SECTION 4: It is the intention of the City Commission and it is hereby ordained that
the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Tamarac, Florida, and that Sections of this Ordinance may be
renumbered or re -lettered and the word "Ordinance" may be changed to "Section", "Article"
or such other word or phrase in order to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 5: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances, and all Resolutions or
parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable.
