Variance Request 1: Section 18-84(2), Code of Ordinances: 1.Variance from Section 18-84(2) to allow a maximum sign area of thirty-two (32) square feet for an announcing sign where a maximum sign area of twenty-four (24) square feet is permitted. " Variance Request 2: Section 18-85(1) & 18-85(2), Code of Ordinances: 1. Variance from Section 18-85(1) to allow a special occasion banner to remain from the date of final variance approval by the City Commission up to the issuance of the final certificate of occupancy for the property in lieu of the thirty (30) day maximum permitted. 2.Variance from Section 18-85(2) to allow a maximum sign area of one hundred fifty-two (152) square feet for a special occasion banner where a maximum sign area of forty (40) square feet is Sign Variance Board Order — Case No. 6-B-17 & 7-B-17 Pagel of 3 Temp. Board Order No. 17 permitted. Notice of the request for the Variance was given as required by law. The City Commission of the City of Tamarac ("Commission") has identified that the properties located east of the Florida Turnpike south of West Commercial Boulevard between Northwest 44th Street to the south and Northwest 49th Court to the north ("Property") is within the City of Tamarac ("City"). The Property is designated Residential Low -Medium on the City's Future Land Use Map and is located in the City's R-3 (Low Density Multi -Family Residential) zoning district., and following consideration of all testimony and evidence presented at the hearing on August 23, 2017, the Commission finds as follows: 1. Sign Variances are not contrary to the public interest. 2. Special conditions did not result from the actions of the applicant. 3. Literal enforcement of the provisions of the sign code regulations may result in an unnecessary hardship. 4. The Public Record, including sworn testimony and evidence established before and presented to the City Commission on August 23, 2017 is hereby incorporated by reference and made a part hereof. Pursuant to the authority contained in Section 18-42 and Article X of Chapter 2 of the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances, the Applicants' request for Variance approval as outlined is hereby GRANTED.
