FL 33321-2401 TA l e FIRST CLASS MAIL CITY OF TAMARAC SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING CITY HALL CHAMBERS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER '14, 2005 There will be a Special Meeting of the City Commission on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 6:30 p.m., in the Commission Chambers at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW $$ Avenue, Tamarac, Florida, to hold public hearings on the proposed millage, tentative budget, and Fire Rescue Special Assessment for Fiscal Year 2006. CALL TO ORDER: 6:30 P.M. ROLL CALL: PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Karen L. Roberts ANNOUNCEMENT of the percentage increase in proposed millage rate over the rolled -back rate necessary to fund the General Fund budget for FY 2006 and the specific purposes for which ad valorem tax revenues are being increased. 2. PUBLIC HEARING on the proposed millage rate for FY 2006. 3. PUBLIC HEARING on the Fire Rescue Assessments for FY 2006. 4. PUBLIC HEARING on the tentative General Fund and other Fund budgets for FY 2006. 5. ADOPTING MILLAGE FOR THE 2005 TAX ROLL: J02092) Motion to adopt ordinance on first reading adopting the millage for the 2005 tax roll, levying a tax for general operations on all properties for the Fiscal Year 2006; levying a tax for the payment of principal and interest for bonded indebtedness; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. FIRE RESCUE ASSESSMENT: (TR10777) Motion to approve Resolution relating to the provision of fire rescue services, facilities and programs in the City of Tamarac, Florida; reimposing Fire Rescue Assessments against Assessed Property located within the City of Tamarac for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2005; approving the rate of assessment; approving the Assessment Roll; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; providing an effective date. 7. TENTATIVE GENERAL FUND AND OTHER FUND BUDGETS FOR FY2006: (T02091) Motion to adopt ordinance on first reading adopting the budget for the General Fund and each of the other Operating Funds and the Capital Improvements Fund for the fiscal year 2006; allocating, appropriating, and authorizing expenditures as presented in the budget, providing for the revenues necessary to fund the expenditures of each of the funds; authorizing budgetary control by department total for all appropriations; providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. 8. ANNOUNCEMENT of the second public hearing during which a final millage and budget shall be adopted. Pursuant to Chapter 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
