SPECIAL WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY COMMISSION OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
MONDAY, JUNE 24, 2002
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the Special City Commission Workshop to
order on Monday, June 24, 2002, at 1:50 p.m. in Room 105 of Tamarac City Hall, 7525
NW 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
PRESENT: Mayor Joe Schreiber, Vice Mayor Edward C. Partner, Commissioner
Gertrude Mishkin, Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof, and Commissioner Karen L.
Roberts.
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller, City Attorney Mitchell S. Kraft, IT
Director Levent Sucuoglu, City Clerk Marion Swenson, Mayor of Fatsa Mustafa Kemal
Camas, Regional Governor Kaya Citak, and Tarkan Ocal, Translator.
Mayor Schreiber read Temporary Resolution 9837, in toto, as well as the attached
accord, whereby the cities of Fatsa, Turkey and Tamarac, Florida would become sister
cities. Mayor Schreiber said the Resolution would be considered and acted upon at the
June 26, 2002 Commission Meeting. Due to the fact that Mayor Camas and Regional
Governor Citak were leaving the United States to return to Turkey on Tuesday, all
parties executed the agreement at the special workshop meeting, said agreement to
take affect June 26, 2002.
There being no further business to come before the City Commission, Mayor Schreiber
adjourned the Special Workshop meeting at 2:10 p.m.
