CITY OF TAMARAC
SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2011
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Talabisco called the special City Commission meeting to
order at 2:03 P.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Room 105, Tamarac City Hall, 7525
NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, FL.
PRESENT: Mayor Beth Talabisco, Vice Mayor Pamela Bushnell, Commissioner Harry
Dressler, Commissioner Michelle J. Gomez, and Commissioner Diane Glasser.
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Michael Cernech, Special Counsel Michael Burke, City
Attorney Sam Goren and City Clerk Peter M. J. Richardson.
Mr. Goren noted that today's Special City Commission meeting had been called by
Mayor Talabisco, pursuant to Section 286.011(8) Florida Statutes and the City of
Tamarac's City Commission rules of procedure to discuss the following matters in an
attorney-client/executive session:
City of Tamarac adv. Prestige Homes of Tamarac, Et al
Broward County Circuit Case No. 10-45101(03);
Southern District of Florida Case No. 10-60468-CIV-Zloch/Rosenbaum
City of Tamarac v. Ace Waste Services, LLC
Broward County Circuit Case No. 10-22554(14)
Mr. Goren stated that he was seeking the City Commission's guidance and advice
relative to the aforementioned matters.
Commissioner Dressler moved, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, to close the public
session. The motion was approved unanimously (5-0).
The executive session commenced at 2:06 p.m.
City Clerk Richardson re-entered Room 105 at 3:25 p.m. Mayor Talabisco noted that
the City Commission had concluded its executive session. Commissioner Dressler
moved, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, to reconvene in public session. The
motion was approved unanimously (5-0). Mr. Goren noted that the City Commission
was back in public session and that all members of the City Commission were present
in the executive session and continued to be present, for the record. Mr. Goren stated
that he had received guidance and direction from the Mayor and City Commissioners.
The executive session/special City Commission meeting adjourned at 3:26 p.m.
