SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2014
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Dressler called the special meeting of the City Commission to
order at 2:33 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 in City Commission Chambers, Tamarac
City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, FL 33321 to declare the results of the November 4,
2014 General Election for City Commission District 2 and the Office of Mayor -at -Large and
deeming Debra Placko as Commission Representative for District 4 as she was unopposed
at the end of qualifying on June 20, 2014.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Harry Dressler, Vice Mayor Michelle J. Gomez, Commissioner Pamela
Bushnell, Commissioner Diane Glasser and Commissioner Debra Placko were in attendance.
Also in attendance were City Manager Michael C. Cernech, City Attorney Samuel S. Goren
and City Clerk Patricia Teufel.
PRESENTATION OF COLORS: Tamarac Fire Department Honor Guard
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Dressler led the Pledge of Allegiance.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Sung by Lu White
1. TR12578 - Declaring the Results of the November 4, 2014 General Election: A Resolution
of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, declaring the results of the November
41 2014 General Election for City Commission District 2 and the Office of Mayor -at -Large;
Providing for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. City
Attorney Goren read TR12578 by title into the record. Vice Mayor Gomez seconded by
Commissioner Placko moved approval of TR12578. Motion passed unanimously (5-0).

Mayor Dressler turned the gavel over to Vice Mayor Gomez in order to take the Oath of
Office for Mayor.
2. Oath of Office - Mayor at Large: City Manager Cernech administered the Oath of Office to
Harry Dressler, and presented Mayor Dressler with the Certificate of Election.
Vice Mayor Gomez passed the gavel back to Mayor Dressler.

4. Oath of Office - District 4: City Attorney Goren administered the Oath of Office to Debra

Mayor Dressler opened the floor for comments from the newly elected officials and their
colleagues.
5. TR12579 - Selection of a Vice Mayor: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of
Tamarac, Florida, electing a Vice Mayor to serve a term of one year beginning November 18,
2014 and ending November 2015, with no succession; providing for conflicts; providing for
severability; and providing for an effective date. Vice Mayor Gomez seconded by
Commissioner Placko moved to appoint Commissioner Bushnell as Vice Mayor effective
November 18, 2014 through November 2015. Motion passed unanimously (5-0).

Mayor Dressler opened Public Participation and with no one wishing
to
speak,
closed

Participation.
7. Other Business: City Attorney Goren said he publically needs to request the Commission
for a Shade Session to take place on December 10th seeking the Commission's advice
regarding the ATS litigation and another Shade Session to also take place on December 10tn
seeking the Commission's advice regarding the Resource Recovery Board Litigation.
Commissioner Bushnell seconded by Commissioner Placko moved approval of setting the
two Shade Sessions down to take place on December 10th. Motion passed unanimously (5-
0).
8. Adjournment: There being no other business Mayor Dressler adjourned the meeting at
