SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
FRIDAY, JANUARY 12, 2007
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco called the Special Meeting of the City
Commission to order at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2007, in Conference Room
105 at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, FL.
PRESENT: Mayor Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco, Vice Mayor Edward C. Portner,
Commissioner Patte Atkins -Grad, Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof, Commissioner Harry
Dressler, City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller, City Attorney Samuel S. Goren, Assistant City
Attorney Mike Cirullo, and Special Counsel Jeff Hochman.
ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Marion Swenson and Dona J. Wong, RPR, CSR, Court
Reporter.
City Attorney Goren explained the purpose of this meeting, as set forth in Florida
Statutes, is that the City Attorney desires advice concerning litigation regarding City of
Tamarac adv. Southern Coatings, Inc., Florida (Case No. 4D05-4479). City Attorney
Goren asked Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco to recess the special meeting so the Mayor
and City Commission, City Attorney Samuel S. Goren, Jeff Hochman, Esq. representing
Johnson, Anselmo, et al., Special Counsel, and City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller can begin
discussions regarding the litigation in the shade session.
Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco recessed the special meeting at 9:36 a.m. City Clerk
Swenson left the room.
Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco reconvened the special meeting at 10:25 a.m. with all
present as before. City Attorney Goren said the Mayor and City Commission met in
private session and Attorney Hochman and City Attorney Goren were given direction
and guidelines for resolution of the matter at hand which they will fulfill as best they can
in the spirit of the direction.
There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Commission, Mayor
Flansbaum-Talabisco adjourned the special meeting at 10:26 a.m.
