SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
CITY HALL CHAMBERS
TUESDAY MARCH 15, 2005
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the Special Meeting of the City Commission to
order at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Chambers at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW
88'h Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
PRESENT: Mayor Joe Schreiber, Vice Mayor Marc L. Sultanof, Commissioner Edward C.
Portner, Commissioner Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco, and Commissioner Karen L. Roberts.
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller, City Attorney Mitchell S. Kraft, and City Clerk
Marion Swenson.
Presentation of the colors by Tamarac Fire Rescue Color Guard.
Challenger Elementary School Student Bianca Bonaventure led the Pledge of allegiance, and
the National Anthem was sung by Chanya.
1. MOTION TO APPROVE Temporary Resolution #10611, declaring the results of the
March 8, 2005 General Election for City Commission Districts 1 and 3. City Attorney Kraft read
Temporary Resolution 10611 by title. Commissioner Roberts seconded by Vice Mayor
Sultanof moved approval. On roll call Commissioner Flansbaum-Talabisco voted "yes",
Commissioner Portner "yes", Mayor Schreiber "yes", Vice Mayor Sultanof "yes", and
Commissioner Roberts "yes". Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. R2005-38
2. OATH OF OFFICE administered by Helen Portner to Edward C. Partner, City
Commission member District 1, and presentation of Certificate of Election.
3. OATH OF OFFICE administered by City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller to Marc L. Sultanof,
City Commission member District 3, and presentation of Certificate of Election.
Mayor Schreiber invited everyone to the reception in the atrium for the elected officials.
Commissioner Portner said he appreciated everyone's attendance at today's Swearing -In
Ceremony, and he intends to go forward with improvements to the City.
4. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City
Commission, Mayor Schreiber adjourned the Special Meeting at 10:15 a.m.
