SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, APRIL 24, 2000
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the Special City Commission Meeting to order on
Mondm April 24, 2000, at 11:10 a.m., in Conference Room #105, at Tamarac City Hall, 7525
NW 88 h Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
PRESENT: Mayor Schreiber, Vice Mayor Roberts, Commissioner Portner, and Commissioner
Sultanof.
ABSENT AND EXCUSED FOR CAUSE: Commissioner Mishkin.
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Miller, City Attorney Kraft, and Interim City Clerk Swenson.
1. APPOINTING FIVE (5) PUBLIC MEMBERS TO THE REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE:
(TR8985) Motion to adopt Resolution appointing five (5) public members to the Redistricting
Committee pursuant to Ordinance No. 0-99-22; providing for conflicts; providing for
severability; and providing an effective date. City Attorney Kraft read Temporary Resolution
No. 8985 by title. Vice Mayor Roberts seconded by Commissioner Portner moved approval.
Commissioner Portner seconded by Commissioner Sultanof moved approval of Temporary
Resolution 8985, as amended, appointing Barry Miller, Harvey Kram, Jerome Ginsberg, Hubert
S. Klombers and Susan M. McCampbell to the Redistricting Committee. On roll call
Commissioner Portner voted "yes", Commissioner Sultanof "yes", Vice Mayor Roberts "yes",
and Mayor Schreiber "yes". Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. R-2000-105
2. APPOINTING ONE RESIDENT TRUSTEE TO THE FIREFIGHTER'S PENSION
BOARD: (TR8975) Motion to adopt Resolution appointing one (1) Resident Trustee to the
Firefighter's Pension Board to fill a vacancy; providing for conflicts; providing for severability;
and providing an effective date. City Attorney Kraft read Temporary Resolution No. 8975 by
title. Commissioner Partner seconded by Vice Mayor Roberts moved approval. Commissioner
Sultanof seconded by Vice Mayor Roberts moved to adopt Temporary Resolution No. 8975, as
amended, appointing John Ralston as the Resident Trustee to the Firefighter's Pension Board
to fill a vacancy. On roll call Commissioner Sultanof voted "yes", Vice Mayor Roberts "yes",
Commissioner Portner "yes", and Mayor Schreiber "yes". Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. R-2000-106
There being no further business to come before the City Commission, Mayor Schreiber
adjourned the meeting at 11:15 a.m.
