CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco called the Special Meeting of the City
Commission to order at 6:33 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, in Conference
Room 105 at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, FL.
PRESENT: Mayor Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco, Vice Mayor Edward C. Portner,
Commissioner Patte Atkins -Grad, Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof, and Commissioner
Harry Dressler, City Attorney Samuel S. Goren, Assistant City Attorney Michael Cirullo,
and Special Counsel Jeff Hochman, Esq. representing Johnson, Anselmo, et al.,
(arrived at 6:45 pm) and City Manager Jeffrey L. Miller.
ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Marion Swenson and Barbara Karlin, Court Reporter,
Esquire Deposition Services.
City Attorney Goren explained the purpose of this meeting, as set forth in Florida
Statutes, is that the City Attorney desires advice concerning litigation regarding
Southern Coatings v. City of Tamarac, Florida (Case No. 4D04-3066).
Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco recessed the special meeting at 6:35 p.m. City Clerk
Swenson left the room.
Mayor Flansbaum-Talabisco reconvened the special meeting at 7:00 p.m. with all
present as before. City Attorney Goren said the Mayor and City Commission met in
private session and Attorney Hochman, City Attorney Goren and Assistant City Attorney
Cirullo were given direction and guidelines for resolution of the matter at hand. City
Attorney Goren said he would bring the item back before the Mayor and City
Commission for ultimate approval.
There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Commission, Mayor
Flansbaum-Talabisco adjourned the special meeting at 7:01 p.m.
