HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-07-18 - City Commission Budget Workshop Meeting MinutesCITY OF TAMARAC CITY COMMISSION BUDGET WORKSHOP TUESDAY, JULY 18, 1995 CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Abramowitz called the Workshop to Order on Tuesday, July 18, 1995, at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room #1, 7525 Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida. PRESENT: Mayor Norman Abramowitz Vice Mayor Irving Katz Commissioner Sharon Machek Commissioner Larry Mishkin (Arrived at 9:40 a.m.) Commissioner Joseph Schreiber ALSO PRESENT Robert S. Noe, Jr., City Manager Mitchell S. Kraft, City Attorney Dina M. McDermott, Assistant City Manager = - Stanley Hawthorne, Finance Director Bruce Abrahams, Budget Officer - Phyllis Polikoff, Secretary Tapes 1 and 2 CITY COMMISSION - Pages 182 and 1.83 Ms. McDermott presented the Goals, Objectives and overview. She recommended purchasing five lap -top computers and discussion followed on training for their use. CITY MANAGER - Pages 194 through 200 Ms. McDermott referred to Goals and Objectives and referenced the Cable TV Ordinance, Hiatus Road extension and connector road. She referenced the pay and classification rate study, negotiated contracts with BSO and IAFF and franchise agreements with the garbage haulers. There was discussion pertaining to a Management Intern and the Commissioners recommended the Intern be considered for FY 97. Discussed followed on an Internal Auditor and Herman Gross, Resident, said this was an excellent suggestion.
