CITY COMMISSION BUDGET WORKSHOP
FRIDAY, JULY 18, 1997
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the budget workshop to order on Friday,
July 18, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac, City Hall, 7525
Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
PRESENT:
Mayor Joe Schreiber
Vice Mayor Larry Mishkin
Commissioner John E. McKaye
Commissioner Karen L. Roberts
Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof
ALSO PRESENT:
Robert S. Noe, Jr., City Manager
Mitchell S. Kraft, City Attorney
Tim Hemstreet, Assistant to the City Manager
Stanley Hawthorne, Finance Director
Emilie Little, Budget Analyst
John Ralston, Management and Budget Officer
Patricia Marcurio, CMC, Assistant City Clerk
Kathleen Margoles, Acting Parks and Recreation Director/Social Services
Coordinator
Nancy Wilson, Media Coordinator
Tape 1
John Ralston and Emilie Little made presentations and gave an overview of the budget
and referenced Pages 3 through 52, 55, 60, 61 and 63 through 74.
Tape 2
Mr. Ralston and Ms. Little's presentations continued and they referred to Pages 75
through 84, 88 through 99 and Page 374 of the proposed budget.
Mayor Schreiber called for a recess at 12:00 p.m. for lunch and the budget workshop
reconvened at 1:45 p.m. with everyone in attendance except V/M Mishkin and City
Attorney Kraft.

Fire Department
Stanley Hawthorne made a presentation concerning the fire rescue assessment.
Tape 3
City Attorney Kraft arrived at 2:10 p.m. and V/M Mishkin arrived at 2:15 p.m.
Mayor Schreiber called for a recess at 3:10 p.m. and the budget workshop reconvened
at 3:20 p.m. with everyone in attendance.
Tapes 4 and 5
Parks and Recreation:
Kathleen Margoles made a presentation and referred to Page 234, 245 and 247 of the
proposed budget.
Tape 6
Social Services:
Kathleen Margoles made a presentation pertaining to Page 215 of the proposed
budget.
With no further discussion, Mayor Schreiber adjourned the budget workshop at 5:20
p.m.
