HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-07-23 - City Commission Budget Workshop Meeting MinutesCITY OF TAMARAC CITY COMMISSION BUDGET WORKSHOP THURSDAY, JULY 23, 1998 CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the budget workshop to order on Thursday, July 23, 1998, at 2:30 p.m., in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac City Hall, 7525 Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida. PRESENT: Mayor Joseph Schreiber, Vice Mayor Larry Mishkin, Commissioner Karen L. Roberts, Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof and Commissioner John E. McKaye. ALSO PRESENT: Robert S. Noe, Jr., City Manager, Mitchell S. Kraft, City Attorney, Tim Hemstreet, Assistant to the City Manager and Carol Gold, City Clerk. Tape 1 1. UTILITIES: Utilities Director Mike Woika presented the Utilities Department proposed budget beginning at page 225 and his Capital Improvement requests. 2. CITY COMMISSION: Tim Hemstreet, Assistant to the City Manager, presented the Commission's proposed budget. 3. PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER: Public Information Officer Jay Moore presented 0 his part of the City Manager's budget. 4. ECONOMIC DEVEELOPMENT: Tammy Reed, Economic Development Specialist, presented her budget. Mayor Schreiber called a recess at 3.50 p.m. The workshop reconvened at 4:05 p.m. with everyone in attendance. 5. NON -DEPARTMENTAL: John Ralston, Management and Budget Officer presented the proposed non -departmental budget. 6. CITY ATTORNEY: City Attorney Kraft presented the City Attorney's proposed departmental budget beginning at page 115 and explained his request for additional staff. 7. CITY MANAGER: City Manager Noe and Assistant to the City Manager Hemstreet presented their proposed departmental budget, program modifications and request for additional staff.
