CITY COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 1996
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Abramowitz called the Special Meeting to order on Tuesday,
March 19, 1996, at 10:00 A.M. in Commission Chambers of Tamarac City Hall, 7525
Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

Mayor Abramowitz invited the audience to the Karen Dickerhoof Town Hall Meeting on
Monday, March 25, 1996 at Coral Springs High School from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. He
also welcomed Former Mayor Walter Falck and his wife and Former Commissioner
Bruce Hoffman.
1. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Any member of the public may speak to any issue
which is on this meeting notice. Speakers will be limited to three minutes during
this item. There will be a thirty (30) minute aggregate time limit for this item, and
speakers are encouraged to sign up in advance with the City Clerk prior to their
participation.
There was no public participation.
2. MOTION TO ADOPT Tema. Reso. #7352 declaring the results of the election of
John E. McKaye on March 12, 1996, for City Commission District 1 and declaring
Joseph Schreiber, running unopposed, as the Commission Representative for
District 3.

V/M Machek MOVED APPROVAL, SECONDED by Comm. Mishkin.
VOTE: ALL VOTED AYE
3. MOTION TO ADOPT Temp. Reso. #7351 declaring the results of the election of
Randy S. Gordon on March 12, 1996, for Charter Board Member for District 2;
declaring Gary Lavalle, running unopposed, as the Charter Board Member for
District 1, and declaring Jay Siggins, running unopposed, as the Charter Board
Member for District 4.
APPROVE D-RESOLUTION-R-96-51
City Attorney Kraft read Temp. Reso. #7351 by title.
V/M Machek MOVED APPROVAL, SECONDED by Comm. Mishkin.
VOTE: ALL VOTED AYE
4. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION by the City Clerk.
Carol A. Evans presented Certificates of Election to John E. McKaye, Randy Gordon,
Gary LaValle and Jay Siggins.
S. OATH OF OFFICE administered to the new City Commission and Charter Board
members.
Ms. Evans administered the Oath to John E. McKaye who was escorted to his chair by
City Manager Noe. She then administered Oath's to..Randy Gordon and Jay Siggins.
Gary LaValle refused to take the Oath because of religious convictions.
Comm. McKaye thanked everyone who voted for him and said he looked forward to the
next three years.
V/M Machek and Comm. Mishkin welcomed back Comm. McKaye and congratulated
Messrs. Gordon, LaValle and Siggins.

Mayor Abramowitz said he was glad to have Comm. McKaye back on the Commission.
Mayor Abramowitz adjourned the Special Meeting at 10:25 A.M.
