Thursday, May 17, 1990 at 9 30 A M in Conference Room #1

MOTION` TQ APPROVE Temp Reso _15799 awarding Bid #90-10
in the amount of $19,500 00 to Wildcat Wrecking Corp , for
demolition and dismantling of the Tamarac Public Works
Building located at 5650 NW 88 Avenue (Pine Island Road),
Tamarac

City Manager Kelly said this matter would have waited
until the City Council regular meeting however, the
Public Works Department was being moved as soon as
possible
City Manager Kelly said the bids for the dismantling and
demolition of the Public Works Building ranged from
$19,000 00 to $45,000 00 He said Keith Emery,
President of Construction Management, Inc , suggested
the City go with Wildcat Wrecking Corporation He said
the necessary documents were submitted and staff was
very comfortable with the bid He said the necessary
funding was available and he recommended approval
V/M Hoffman asked if the dismantled building would be
moved to another location and Mr Emery said the
dismantled building would be temporarily moved to the
old City Hall He said when the Public Service
Administrative Complex project was implemented, the
dismantled building would be moved there
V/M Hoffman asked if the cost included moving across the
street and Mr Emery replied, yes
Mr Emery said the structural elements of the building
would be used for the Public Service Administrative
Complex, except for the skin of the existing building
because it was no good

C/M Schumann said he noticed there was a big difference
in the bids and he asked why
Mr Emery said this type of difference was normal
especially in demolition pro3ects He said the bidders
put in high bads hoping that no one bid lower He said
the actual number he budgeted for this project was
$20,000 00

With no further business, V/M Hoffman ADJOURNED this
meeting at 9 45 A M
