CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP MEETING
MONDAY, JANUARY 30, 1995
CALL TO 9RDER.• Mayor Abramowitz called the meeting to order on Monday, January
30, 1995, at 9:30 a.m. in Conference Room #1 at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 Northwest
88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

2. CHARTER REVIEW
The City received a proposal to review the Charter from FAU/FIU Joint Center for
Environmental and Urban Problems at a cost of $27,406.95. All Commissioners
indicated the cost was too high. The process of reviewing the Charter was discussed.
1. CABLE TELEVISION
The City Manager participated in the meeting by speakerphone in Conference Room #1
and recommended that the City remove itself from the area of rate regulation of cable
TV.
An Expression of Interest by the Commissioners indicated they agreed with this
recommendation.

The City Manager, over the speakerphone, suggested that he and the City Attorney
could prepare something for Commission review if two or three full days were dedicated
to this project. Discussion was held on this suggestion.

3. REPORTS
Comm. Machek discussed a demonstration on solar lighting that would be scheduled
for the City Commission meeting of February 8, 1995. She also mentioned EMS which
was then discussed by the full Commission.
Mayor Abramowitz ADJOURNED the WORKSHOP at 11:30 a.m.
