NOTICE OF WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY COMMISSION OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
There will be a Workshop Meeting of the City Commission on Monday, October 6,
1997 at 9:30 a.m. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88 Avenue,
Tamarac, Florida, on the following:
1. 10/08/97 Commission Agenda Items - discussion
2. User fees - discussion
The City Commission may consider such other business as may come before it. All
meetings are open to the public. In the event this agenda must be revised, such
revised copies will be available to the public at the City Commission meeting.

OCTOBER 6, 1997
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the workshop to order on Monday,
October 6, 1997, at 9:30 a.m. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac City Hall, 7525
Northwest 88t" Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

Comm. Roberts commented on Consent Agenda Item 5.b. concerning the lease
agreement with the School Board of Broward County and Consent Agenda Item
5.d. regarding the City's lobbyist.
Mayor Schreiber discussed Consent Item 5.1. concerning reroofing the Multi -
Purpose Center. Mike Woika made a presentation. There was further
discussion on this matter.

Mayor Schreiber commented on Items 7, 10, 11 and 12 regarding Temp.
Ordinances #1785, #1802, #1803 and #1804 and Chief Budzinski made a
presentation.
Mayor Schreiber commented on Item 14, regarding resurfacing of certain streets
and Raj Verma made a presentation.
Comm. Roberts discussed Item 16, Temp. Ord. #1797 concerning grafitti, and
Chris King made a presentation.
2. User fees
There was discussion regarding ID cards for employees and non-residents.
Kathleen Margoles made a presentation on hours of operation for the Fitness
Room at the Multi -Purpose Center.

Kathleen Margoles continued her presentation highlighting summer camp. She
also suggested a 10% increase in fees and a fee increase in transportation for
Senior trips. She commented on the show mobile and discussion continued.
City Manager Noe said there would be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the
concession stand but no date was mentioned. He said a Special Executive
Session regarding IAFF negotiations would be held on October 14, 1997, at
10:30 a.m. with a workshop to follow.
City Manager Noe discussed the solid waste collection contract and suggested
that residential and commercial contracts be renewed at the same time. He
referred to a new sign for Tamarac Commerce Park and suggested that the
Commissioners choose a time and date to see the sign.
Mayor Schreiber referred to a letter he received regarding FCC cable complaints.
V/M Mishkin commented on the accuracy of statements made in the newspaper
regarding a telephone survey for the Senior Center. Comm. McKaye discussed
visitors attending City Commission Workshops and suggested the City
Manager's evaluation be done in November. City Manager Noe concurred.
With no further discussion, Mayor Schreiber adjourned the workshop at 10:55
a.m.
