CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP
MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1996
CALL TO ORDER; Vice Mayor Mishkin called the workshop to order on Monday,
December 2, 1996, at 9:30 A.M. in Conference Room #1 of Tamarac, City Hall, 7525
Northwest 88th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.

Mitchell S. Kraft, City Attorney
Jeffrey L. Miller, Director of Community Development
Susan Sinclair, Risk Manager
Mark Greenspan, Public Works Operations Manager

Fowler Settlement
Ms. Sinclair made a presentation regarding settling the subject claim.
2. Saporiti Settlement
Ms. Sinclair made a presentation regarding settling the subject claim.
4. Entrance Signs
Discussion was held regarding the cost and location of signs and Vice Mayor Mishkin
suggested placing a sign adjacent to the Sawgrass Expressway and Commercial
Boulevard. Further discussion followed on Sam Butters placing a sign by Tamarac
Commerce Park.

5. Enclosure of Multi -Purpose Center
Messrs. Doyle and Greenspan made a presentation and Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Noe
recommended that the Commissioners reconsider the $18,000 for the space study.
The consensus of the City Commission was to reconsider the space study.

3. Set date for Commission appointments to Boards/Committees
There was discussion and Comm. Schreiber recommended waiting until after the
March, 1997 election to make appointments. The Commissioners concurred.
6. Appointment to Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
There was discussion and Vice Mayor Mishkin recommended scheduling a special
meeting on Monday, December 9, 1996, at 9:30 A.M. to be followed by a workshop.
The Commissioners agreed.
7. Lennar's sign on the Sawgrass Expressway and Northwest 108 Terrace
Comm. Schreiber requested clarification on renewal of the sign waiver. Discussion
followed. City Attorney Kraft advised that only the City Commission could approve sign
waivers.
With no further discussion, Vice Mayor Mishkin adjourned the workshop at 10.30 A.M.
