ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Mayor Walter W. Falck Vice Mayor Helen Massaro Councilman Philip B. Kravitz Councilman David E. Krantz Councilman Jack Stelzer ALSO PRESENT: Laura Z. Stuurmans, City Manager Jon M. Henning, City Attorney Mayor Falck read the Notice of the Meeting into the record. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Internal Control Audit to be performed by Alexander Grant and Company. C/M Stelzer asked Ray Munitz, resident, if he objected to an internal control audit and Mr. Munitz said he was not objecting to the need for an internal control audit. He said at the time the matter was agendized, the City Manager handed him a copy of a letter from Alexander Grant and in reviewing it he felt it did not adequately accomplish what the Council had in mind. He said the City Manager asked his professional opinion on this matter and, based on his observation of the letters of 4/14/83 and 4/18/83 from Alexander Grant, he felt the matter was not sufficient. He said, however, after listening to several points with the City..Manag_er and discussions with Mr. Emmer, he felt there is no disagreement with the internal control. C/M Kravitz said the most important facet of this audit would be to establish controls for the future and Alexander Grant & Co. are very qualified to handle this since they do the annual audit as well. V/M Massaro said she had her questions answered by Mr. Emmer and after the audit Council will be aware of any weaknesses and the method of corrections. C/M Krantz questioned the fee involved and Council said it was determined at a previous meeting that it would not exceed $10,000. The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 A.M.
