The purpose of this meeting is discussion and possible action on the following items: I - Board of Consumer Affairs - Appointment of one member to this ar y Temp. Reso. #3605. 2 - Insurance Advisorx Committee - Creation of Section 2-43 of the Code to provide for the establishment of this committee. by Temp. Ord. #1194. First Reading. 3 - School Boundaries - Objecting to Broward County School Board changing the school boundaries for Tamarac students presently attending J.P. R--85-138 PASSED. appointing Benjamin Brumberg with a term to expire on 4/14/86. Mr. Henning read Temp, Reso.-J3,595 by title. Mayor Kravitz said the Board of Consumer Affairs has recommended Benjamin Brumberg be appointed to this committee and V/M Massaro so MOVED, SECONDED by C/M Gottesman. kNOWM V/M Massaro MOVED APPROVAL of Tf� mp,._Reeo. -#3695 inserting the name of Benjamin Brumberg as a member of this committee, for a term to expire on 4/14/86. SECONDED by C/M Gottesman. VOTE: ALL VOTED AYE 2. Ins,-ance Advisory Committee - Creation of Section 2-43 of the Code to provide for the establishment of this committee by First Reading. SYNOPS.12 OF_ ACTION: APPROVED on first reading as amended. Mr. Henning read Temp. Ord._#1194 by title. Mr. Henning said this Ordinance was drafted at Mayor Kravitz's request and was discussed several months ago. He said at that time, the idea was abandoned and is being reconsidered. He said it would be a committee of 5 people to discuss the insurance needs of the City. He said Mayor Kravitz has recommended strik- ing the sentence on Line 33 of Page 1, "In addition to the regular members, the Finance Director, or his designee, shall serve as an ex-officio member of the committee". School'Boun aries -- Objecting to Broward County School Board changing the school boundaries for Tamarac students presently attending J.P. Taravella High School'by Temp. Reso. #3604. YNORSSIS_._ F _ACTION: APPROVED. RESOLUTION NO. R-85-137 PASSED. Mr. Henning read by title. Mayor Kravitz said he spoke to several people who expressed concern about this, including the Principal of Tamarac Elementary School and members of the School Board. He said with their input and the City Attorney's assistance, this Resolution is urging the School Board to leave the school district boundaries as is. He said he will present this Resolution tomorrow evening at 7:00 P.M. at the School Board meeting. C/M Stein said he introduced this Resolution at the last meeting and it was tabled for this meeting for investigation. Mayor Kravitz said this was given to the City Attorney with his notes. Mr. Henning said C/M Stein brought this up at the last meeting as an Agendized by Consent item and it was tabled. He said he received notes from the.Mayor with typing instructions and this is the way it was prepared. C/M Gottesman MOVED APPROVAL of Temp,_ sego. #3604, SECONDED by C/M Stein. Mr. Henning said the title refers to J.P. Taravella High School, since that was the immediate impact that needed attention, how- ever, the body of the Resolution speaks to all boundaries within the City. Mayor Kravitz said if he will not be present at the School Board meeting tomorrow night, he will have a representa- tive there. Mayor Kravitz adjourned the meeting at 4:50 P.M.
