NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
There will be a Special Meeting of the City Council on Wednesday,
October 30, 1985, at 8:00 A.M. in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, 5811 NW 88 Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
The Council will take action on the following items:
1. City Planner_ Position - Temp. Reso. #3816 -
Discussion and possible action to appoint
Richard S. Rubin as City Planner (currently
part-time Consultant Planner).(tabled from
10/28/85)
2. NW 57 Street - S-Curve at Commercial Boulevard -
Discussion and possible action on:
a) Developers Agreement
b) Acceptance of Declaration of Covenants and
Restrictions - Temp. Reso. #3784
c) Vacation of a portion of NW 57 Street
right-of-way, Petition #3-V-85 - Temp.
Ord. #1215. First Reading.

The City Council may consider and act upon such other business
as may come before it.

SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Tape 1 CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Kravitz called the meeting to order on
Wednesday, October 30, 1985 at 8:15 A.M. in the Council
Chambers.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT:
Mayor Philip B. Kravitz
Vice Mayor Helen Massaro
Councilman Raymond J. Munitz
ABSENT AND EXCUSED:
Councilman Arthur H. Gottesman
ABSENT:
Councilman Sydney M. Stein
ALSO PRESENT:
Larry Perretti, Acting City Manager
Jon M. Henning, City Attorney
Patricia Marcurio, Secretary
Mayor Kravitz announced the passing of Mayor Oscar Seltman
and said the funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October
31, 1985.
MEDITATION AND PLEDGE: Mayor Kravitz called for a Moment of
Silent Meditation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
1. City Planner Position - Temp. Reso. #3816 - Discussion
and possible action to appoint Richard S. Rubin as City
Planner (currently part-time Consultant Planner) (tabled
from 10/28/85)
SYNOPSIS OF ACTION: TABLED to 11/13/85.
Larry Perretti, Acting City Manager, requested this item be
tabled since the contract language needs clarification.
C/M Munitz asked who has determined that a full time planner
is necessary.
V/M Massaro said she requested it be put into the budget, at
which time it was discussed, and said the work load is too
heavy and there is no continuity in the planner's work.
Jon Henning, City Attorney, said the position will remain
Consultant City Planner with the hours increased to 36 hours
per week.
V/M Massaro MOVED the City Planner Position Temp.r Reso.
13816, be TABLED to the next regular City Council Meeting.
C/M Munitz SECONDED.

2. NW 57 Street_ - �S-Curve at _ Commercial Boulevard -
Discussion and possible action on:

a) and b) City Attorney, Jon Henning read Temp. Reso. #3784
by title and said it would be appropriate to approve the
Resolution at the second reading of the Ordinance but
discussion should be held at this time since several
conditions have been negotiated, which the landowners have
agreed to.
Vicki Beech, resident, asked if the City receives
remuneration from the developer when it vacates public
property.
V/M Massaro said $40,000.00 is involved in this case for the
need of traffic lights in that area. She MOVED that the
Developers Agreement and Temp. Reso. #3784 be TABLED to the
next regular City Council meeting. SECONDED by C/M Munitz.
VOTE• ALL VOTED AYE
V/M Massaro said there will be one correction regarding the
Warranty Deed necessary for utilities at the time of
vacation.
c) Mr. Henning read Temp._Ord_.#1215 by title.
V/M Massaro MOVED Temp. Ord. #1215 be APPROVED on first
reading. SECONDED by C/M Munitz.

Mayor Kravitz ADJOURNED the meeting at 8:35 A.M.
