AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE POWER OF ARREST TO
THE CHIEF BUILDING INSPECTOR, CHIEF ELECTRICAL
INSPECTOR, CHIEF STRUCTURAL INSPECTOR AND
CHIEF PLUMBING INSPECTOR, THROUGH ISSUANCE OF
A SUMMONS TO ANY PERSON VIOLATING ANY OF THE
PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NOS. 64-1, 65-1, 67-3,
69-2 and 69-6, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED,
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, OR BY PROCURING AN
ARREST WARRANT FROM THE MUNICIPAL COURT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 9,33 of the Charter of
the City of Tamarac, the city is given the power to cause the
arrest through its officers and employees of any person vio-
lating any of the Ordinances, rules or regulations of the
City of Tamarac; and,
WHEREAS, the Chief Building Inspector has brought
to the attention of the City Council the need for designated
building department personnel to have the power of arrest
through issuance of a summons in order to efficiently and
effectively enforce the building and zoning ordinances, and
related ordinances, of the City of Tamarac; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to
grant such power of arrest through the issuance of a summons
or by procuring arrest warrants to the chief officials of
the building department; now, therefore,
0 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The Chief Building Inspector, Chief
Electrical Inspector, Chief Structural Inspector and Chief
Plumbing Inspector are hereby given authority to arrest any
person violating any of the provisions of Ordinance No. 64-1,
Articles I, II, III and IV thereof, 65-1, 67-3, 69-2 and
69-6, as amended and supplemented, of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Tamarac, by issuing a summons to such person

or persons to appear in Municipal Court, or by procuring an
arrest warrant from the municipal court whence it appears
doubtful whether the violator will appear pursuant to a
written citation or notice, or where the violation is wilful,
wanton or deliberate.
SECTION 2: Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than
the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
