AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SEWER SERVICE CHARGES
IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA;
19 PROVIDING TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING THE
PAYMENT OF SUCH SEWER SERVICE CHARGES; PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised that
certain areas of the City of Tamarac are receiving sewer
service from the City, for which the City receives no
revenue nor makes any charges to defray its normal and
usual expenses in connection with providing such services,
and the City Council has been further advised that such
sewer service charges should be levied, as a matter of
• proper and legal municipal expenditures and revenues;
now, therefore,
SECTION 1: There is hereby levied and established
a schedule or system of rates and charges for sanitary
sewerage disposal service against each and every person,
firm or corporation owning or using any building or structure
in the City, whether or not said building or structure is
inhabited or used as a place of residence, business or
otherwise, as follows:
(See attached Schedule "A" which is hereby made
a part of this Ordinance as if set forth herein
in full.)
SECTION 2: In the event that a sewer bill for one
month has not been paid by the time the next month's bill
is ready to be mailed, a cut-off notice shall be sent to
the customer at the same time that the second month's bill
is mailed. The cut-off notice shall allow fifteen (15) days
from the date of mailing within which time the customer must
pay any amount past due, and if such payment is not so made
the City Clerk shall cut off the sewer service immediately.
SECTION 3: (1) In the event that a sewer customer
whose sewer service has been cut off by reason of non-payment
of his sewer bill, desires to have his sewer service re-
established, he shall pay the entire amount of said delinquent
sewer bill, together with penalty thereon, if any, and an
additional Two Dollars ($2.00) for re-establishing said sewer
service. (2) No sewer service to any premises shall ever
be re-established until all past due amounts charged thereto
for sewer service, including penalties and other similar
charges, if any, have been paid in full by the owner of the
premises, or the owner's agent.
SECTION 4: The rates provided for in this Ordinance
shall be applicable in the following areas of the City of
Tamarac, to -wit:
All areas lying East of State Road No. 7, (U.S.
No. 441) as the same is now opened and constructed.
• SECTION 5: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
of word be deccared by a court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other
than the part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 6: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

Residential Service:
One (1) Bath $ 3.50
One and a half
(1 1/2) or more
baths 4.50
2. Munici al and Commercial Unless Otherwise Specified:
Monthly Charge equal to 100% of water bill, but
in no event less than $.35 per 1,000 gallons;
Minimum charge $3.50.
3. Multiple Family Unit Service:
Flat Rate charge equal to $3.50 for First Unit
plus $1.75 for each additional unit.
4. Hotel Motel and Trailer Park Service:
Flat Rate Charge equal to $3.50 for First Unit
plus $1.00 for each Additional Unit.
5. Public School and Hospital Service:
Monthly charge equal to 100% of Water Bill.
6. Master Metered Residential Community Service:
Residential Rate Schedule applicable.
