ORDINANCE NO. 70 - 2
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TIME AND PLACE
OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL;
PROVIDING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR WORKSHOP
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the volume of official municipal business
required by the growth of the City of Tamarac has been steadily
increasing and the Council has, in the past, found it necessary
to hold numerous regular and special meetings as well as
numerous workshop meetings; and,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac is
desirous of serving all of the needs of the citizens and
residents of the City of Tamarac and deems it to be in the
public interest to hold regularly scheduled regular and
workshop meetings in order to provide maximum notice to the
public in order that it may be heard on any matter of partic-
ular interest; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMA.RAC , FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The regular meetings of the City Council
of the City of Tamarac shall be held on the first Monday and
the third Tuesday of each month, at such places as may be desig-
nated by the Council at a previous meeting or posted at City
Hall. Said Monday meetings shall commence at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
and terminate at 12:00 o'clock A.M.; said Tuesday meetings
shall commence at 2:00 o'clock P.M. and terminate at 6:00 o'clock
P.M.; provided, however, at either meeting, a motion providing
for a continuance of said meeting may be passed by a majority
of the Councilmen in attendance. All business not completed
at the close of the regularly scheduled meeting shall be included
on the agenda of the next regular Council meeting or at such
special Council meetings as the Council may, in its discretion,
establish. In the event the first Monday or the third Tuesday
of the month is a holiday, said regular commission meetings
shall be held on the next Monday or Tuesday of the month that

is not a holiday.
SECTION 2: Workshop meetings of the City Council
of the City of Tamarac shall be held on the second and fourth
Tuesdays of every month at the City Hall Complex, or at such
place as may be designated by the Council of the City of
Tamarac. Said meetings shall commence at 2:00 o'clock P.M.
and shall terminate at the pleasure of the Council and may
be continued, from time to time, at the pleasure of the Council.
The Council may, by majority vote of the councilmen in attend-
ance at any regular, special crworkshop meeting, cancel any
subsequently scheduled workshop meeting.
SECTION 3: The Council may, in accordance with
other applicable law or ordinance of the City of Tamarac,
schedule any special or additional meetings as may be re-
quired to serve the needs of the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 4: Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence
or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the
part declared to be invalid.
SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
