HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Ordinance O-1970-035• CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE # r0-3'!!5__ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A MUNICIPAL PARK ING FACILITY; SETTING PARKING FEES; AUTHORIZ- ING THE CREATION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary to establish and provide a parking facility and WHEREAS, such a facility has been created and now is ready for use; and WHEREAS, City Council now deems it necessary to set parking fees in order to defray the expense of creation and maintenance of said parking facility. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of Tamarac, Florida: SECTION 1: That a Municipal Parking Facility located next to the sewer plant at 5510 Northwest 22 Street, Fort Laud- erdale, Florida, is hereby created. SECTION 2: That it shall be illegal for any person, firm, or corporation to either park or cause to be parked, any automobile, truck, trailer, or other vehicle without first ob- taining a parking permit and paying a fee therefore. SECTION 3: The rates or fees to be paid for the use of the Municipal Parking Facility shall be: A. Fifty cents (.50) per day,per vehicle. B. Three Dollars ($3.00) per week, per vehicle. C. Ten Dollars ($10.00) per month, per vehicle. SECTION 4: All fees paid for the use of the parking facility shall be paid to the City Clerk and or to any agent that he may designate. All sums collected shall be paid in to the General Fund of the City. • SECTION 5: The City Clerk is hereby authorized to establish rules and regulations necessary to properly control the use of the Municipal Parking Facility. He shall cause all such rules and regulations set to be posted at the facility and made available to any person requesting same. SECTION 6: Any person who shall be convicted of a violation of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding the sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars or by imprisonment for not more than ninety days or both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 7: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 8: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion hereof, or any paragraphs, sen- tence or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
