WHEREAS, Section 124 of the City Charter of the City of Tamarac authorizes amendments,to the City Charter of the City of Tamarac upon submission by the Charter Board and approved by the City Council, and WHEREAS, both of such bodies have approved the amend - meet which is the subject matter of this Ordinance and deem the same to be desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of Tamarac, Florida: SECTION 1• C.•� Cx hereto and marked Charter. PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION There shall be a primary election only in those cases where more than two (2) candidates have qualified for election to one (1) office. if two (2) or less than two (2) candidates have qualified for election to one office, then their names are to be placed on the ballot of the general election and no primary election will be held for that office. The two (2) candidates for each office receiving the highest number of votes in the primary election shall have their names placed on the ballot at the general election to be voted on at large. The candidate receiving the greatest number of votes in the general election for each office shall be declared elected to such office. In the primary and general elections the names of the candidates shall be listed on the ballot in alphabetical order for each office and shall be voted on in each District. Any primary election shall be held on the second Tuesday in February of each year. The general election shall be held on the third Tuesday thereafter. A tie vote between two (2) or more candidates for any office, either in the primary or general election shall be decided by lot to be conducted by the Municipal Judge." 1 A.
