ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO
SECTION 94 OF ARTICLE XIV
OF THE CITY CHA ER OF THE CITY OFAMARAC
RELATING TO COUNCIL ACTION ON BUDGET
HE CITY OF TAMARAC AND
APPROVAL BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION
124 OF THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC.
WHEREAS, Section 124 of the City Charter of the City
of Tamarac authorizes amendments to the City Charter of
the City of Tamarac upon submission by the Charter Board
and approved by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, both of such bodies have approved the.amend-
ment which is the subject matter -of this Ordinance and deem
the same to be desirable.,
NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE Cil
City of Tamarac, Florida: Y,
SECTION 1: That the amendment to Article XIV
Section 94 of the City Charter relating to Council
Action on Budget attached
hereto and marked Charter Board Proposed Amendment No. 22
be and the same is hereby adopted and made a part of the
City Charter of the City of Tamarac, Florida.
SECTION.2: This Ordinance shall become effective'�Wm� 'T, ,.

AMENDMENT 22 TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TPMARAC
ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 94 of the City Charter of the City
of Tamarac is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 94. COUNCIL ACTION ON BUDGET
The Council shall publish in one or more newspapers of
general circulation in the City the general summary of the
budget and a notice stating the times and places where copies
of the message and budget are available for inspection by the
public, and the time and place, not less than two (2) weeks
after such publication, for a public hearing on the budget.
After the public hearing, the Council may adopt the budget
with or without amendment. In amending the budget, it may add
or increase programs or amounts and may delete or decrease any
programs or amounts, except expenditures required by law or
for debt service or for estimated cash deficit, provided that
no amendment to the budget shall increase the authorized ex--
peditures to an amount greater than the total of estimated C."

The Council shall, on or before the 30th of September,
adopt the budget with such changesor amendments as it deems
to be necessary and proper by resolution. if it fails to adopt
the budget by this date, the amounts appropriated for current
operation for the current fiscal year shall be deemed adopted
for'the ensuing fiscal year on a month to month basis, with all
items in it prorated accordingly, until such time as the Council

AMENDMENT "'22 continued:
adopts a budget for the ensuing fiscal year. Adoption of the
budget shall constitute appropriations of the amounts specified
therein as expenditures from the funds indicated and shall con-
stitute a levy of the property tax therein proposed, if any."
