CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE MAKING THE CROSSING OF MEDIAN STRIPS BY
A MOTOR VEHICLE UNLAWFUL; PROVIDING A PENALTY THERE-
FOR; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE _
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interests
of the health, safety and welfare of the property and persons of
residents of the City of Tamarac to make the crossing of median
strips by motor vehicles unlawful, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a penalty
for such unlawful act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That no person shall drive or park a motor
vehicle across a median strip of this municipality except where
specifically permitted by traffic sign or indicator, except that
this provision shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles.
SECTION 2: Every person found guilty of a violation of
Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not
more than $100.00 or by imprisonment for not more than ten (10)
days.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall become effective imme-
diately upon its final passage.
