HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Ordinance O-1976-0101 PROPOSED BY : J r Temp. 7?��► NJ,I.kjc�"1 / / 10/23/75 INTRODUCED BY: 11/12/75 11/25/75 2/ 17/ 76 CITY OF TAMARAC , FLORIDA ORDINANCE NO._M-(rj AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 11, CHAPTER 24 SUBDIVISION IMPROVEMENTS; PROVIDING ENGINEERING MEDIAN STRIPS ON CERTAIN STREETS; PROVIDING ENGINEERING STANDARDS FOR MEDIANS; PROVIDING FOR SODDING AND LANDSCAPING OF UNPAVED RIGHT- OF-WAY AREAS; PROVIDING ENGINEERING STANDARDS FOR ACCESSWAYS; REPEALING LAWS IN CONFLICT, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AMID PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: City of Tamarac Code Chapter 24, (Subdivision Improvement) Section 24-14 is amended by adding, as follows: SECTION 24-14.0 STANDARD ROADWAY SECTIONS All street improvEments shall be constructed in conformance with the "Standard Roadway Sections" pages 3, 4 and 5 of this Ordinance. SECTION 24-14.1 MEDIAN STRIPS AMID OPENINGS A. Median Strips which are spaces often landscaped dividing opposing traffic on a street, shall be required as dividers between lanes of traffic flowing in opposite directions upon all streets within the City wherein the dedicated right -of --way is 106 feet or greater. All right-of-ways less than 106 feet shall not be permitted to include median strips. B. All median strips and openings shall be constructed in accordance with the "Standard Roadway Sections" on pages 3 and 5 of this Ordinance. C. Performance bonds and engineering inspection fees for proposed median and openings which have not been included -as part of previously approved Subdivision Improvements shall be in accordance with Section 23-17 of the Tamarac City Code and Ordinance 75-21. SECTION 24-14.2 SODDING AND GRASSING OF UNPAVED RIGHT-OF-WAY A. All portions of the roadway, including medians remaining unpaved shall be planted with sod in accordance to Florida's Department of Transpor- tation (D.O.T.) "Standard Specification for Roads and Bridge Construction" Section 575. Grassing in accordance with Section 570, 571 and 573 of D.O.T.'S 8pecifica.tions may be substituted for sod during the months of May to August. Grass or sod to be installed in the right-of-way at a time determined by the City Engineer provided, however, that it shall be in- stalled prior to the release of the bond. B. For the purposes of this Ordinance, the reference to Engineer in D.O.T.'s specification shall mean City Engineer. All references to the suitable depth of the prepared surface shall mean a minimum of 3" of clean top soil. Ri 1 C C. The preparation of the ground surface shall be in accordance to Section 580-2.2 of D.O.T. standards for "roads and bridge construc- tion" or equal. D. All work herein referred to shall be maintained in accordance with Section 570-5 of said D.O.T. standards and shall be kept at a height no greater than 6" until the roadway has been accepted by the City Council Resolution. E. Section 575, 570, 571 and 573 of the D.O.T's Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridge Construction as effective on the date of the enactment of this Ordinance are hereby incorporated by reference as if set forth in this Ordinance. SECTION 24-14.3 PRIVATE ACCESSWAYS A. All vehicular ingress and egress between private business, commercial or more than a two family development and paved roadways shall be constructed in accordance with the exhibit on page 6 of this Ordinance. B. SECTION 3; Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof, or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a count of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
